July 31, 2002 <br />Ms. Linda Waite -Smith <br />City of Lino Lakes <br />600 Town Center Parkway <br />Lino Lakes, MN 55110 <br />RE: APPROVAL OF 2003 COMMISSION AND MEDIA CENTER BUDGETS <br />Dear Ms. Waite -Smith: <br />Enclosed, please find for the council's review and approval the 2003 Budgets for both the North <br />• Metro Telecommunications Commission ("Commission") and the North Metro Media Center <br />("Media Center"). <br />• <br />I. 2003 COMMISSION BUDGET <br />The Commission's operating budget for 2003 is proposed at $358,410. This is a decrease of <br />$107,767 under the 2002 budget. The 2002 budget was significantly higher than the 2003 budget <br />due to the costs associated with the formal franchise renewal process. <br />Recommendation: That the Member Cities approve the 2003 Commission Budget as <br />recommended by the Telecommunications Commission and the <br />Operations Committee. <br />II. 2003 MEDIA CENTER BUDGET <br />The amended Joint Powers Agreement established an "Operations Committee" which is <br />composed of Member City administrators. Their primary responsibility is to provide input to the <br />operation and budget of the Community Media Center.
