Charter Commission <br /> April 13, 2000 <br /> Page 3 <br /> MOTION by Commissioner Rafferty to make it the responsibility of the Chair of the <br /> Commission to identify new and old appointees. <br /> Commissioner DeMotts referred to page 3, section 9, of the by-laws regarding this issue. <br /> Chair Sullivan noted the Judge tends to make the appointments public at the last minute. <br /> Commissioner Gene Lane noted the Commission has always had a problem with last minute <br /> appointments. <br /> Commissioner Carlson inquired about Commissioner terms. <br /> Chair Sullivan advised he will research the Commissioner terms and put it on the July 2000, <br /> agenda. <br /> Commissioner Trehus seconded MOTION. <br /> Chair Sullivan advised if the Chair is formally designated to inform appointees, it needs to be <br /> noted in the by-laws. A resolution needs to be written and presented at the next meeting. A vote <br /> will then be taken. <br /> Commissioner Trehus advised he would write the resolution. <br /> CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br /> January 13,2000 <br /> Commissioner Dahl referred to page 3, paragraph 12, advising the City Clerk asked about <br /> specific wording. <br /> Commissioner Lane stated she would prefer not be listed as absent from the meeting. <br /> Chair Sullivan advised her absence was excused. <br /> Commissioner Lane referred to page 6, paragraph 13, asking for clarification of Commissioner <br /> Trehus" two nominations for vice-chair. <br /> Commissioner Trehus advised he did nominate two (2) members for vice-chair. <br /> Commissioner Gene Lane referred to page 4, paragraph 11. He corrected the following statement <br /> to read"Commissioner Sullivan asked Commissioners to think about whether they should <br /> proceed with a more readable document''. <br /> 3 <br />
