BOARD OF REVIEW MINUTES May 10,2021 <br /> APPROVED <br /> 1 CITY OF LINO LAKES <br /> 2 MINUTES <br /> 3 BOARD OF APPEAL AND EQUALIZATION <br /> 4 <br /> 5 DATE : May 10,2021 <br /> 6 TIME STARTED : 6:00 p.m. <br /> 7 TIME ENDED : 6:10 p.m. <br /> 8 MEMBERS PRESENT : Councilmember Ruhland,Lyden, Cavegn, Stoesz <br /> 9 and Mayor Rafferty <br /> 10 MEMBERS ABSENT : none <br /> 11 <br /> 12 Staff members present: City Clerk Julie Bartell; Finance Director Sarah Cotton <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Anoka County Assessor Staff present: Alex Guggenberger(County Assessor); Shawn Halligan & <br /> 15 James Hughes (Appraiser staff) <br /> 16 <br /> 17 City Board of Appeal members who had completed training for the meeting were Councilmembers <br /> 18 Lyden and Ruhland and Mayor Rafferty. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Mayor Rafferty called the meeting to order; all members were present. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Mr. Guggenberg explained that there will be two properties entered into the records. Statute requires <br /> 23 if they are changed within a period close the Board date,they must be considered by the Board. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 PID 17-31-22-22-0022, reduced from $606,600 to $357,600;the property is a commercial pole barn <br /> 26 and when the County's property system was recently converted,the property ended up in an less <br /> 27 appropriate valuation category; staff is recommending that be recognized by a change in valuation. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 PID 27-31-22-11-0050, reduced from $653,700 to $574,000; a residential property and staff is <br /> 30 recommending changes to both 2021 payable and 2022 payable valuations. There was a clerical error <br /> 31 a couple years ago related to the tuck under garage and a staff error that overly increased the value. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 It was noted that property owners of these properties still reserve the right to appeal to the County <br /> 34 Board of Appeal. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Motion by Councilmember Lyden, seconded by Councilmember Cavegn,to approve the adjustments <br /> 37 noted by the County Assessor, was approved on a voice vote. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 The council had reviewed the official board report (on file)at a recent work session. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 There were no property owners wishing to speak. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Councilmember Cavegn moved to adjourn at 6:10 p.m. Councilmember Lyden seconded the motion. <br /> 44 Motion carried on a voice vote. <br /> 45 <br /> 1 <br />
