Motion carried unanimously .
PLAT - RICE LAKE ESTATES
This plat was to be reviewed by the Park Board for a recommendation on
whether the Board should accept land or money in leiu of land for this
plat .
Mr . Arntzson questioned the several areas designated as parks - why the
smaller park areas ? why not all ` in one?
Mr. Schumacher noted that the Baldwin Park is adjacent to this plat and
felt that the need for larger parks was not there .
This plat is for single family manufactured homes and each lot contains
9 ,000 square . If the Park Board recommended money in leiu of land, the
current figure being used is $1500 . 00 per acre . This would compute to
$6840 . 00 for this plat .
The general consensus of the Park Board was that a park is not needed in
that area . Mr. Arntzen moved to require money in leiu of land. Seconded
by Mr . Scherer. Motion carried unanimously .
PARK SURVEYS
The returned surveys had been analyized and a report had been prepared
for discussion at this meeting. Mr . Mr. Flannery felt the results were interesting and
was suprised that Horse back riding wasn ' t higher . There was discussion
on the multi use of some of the facilities .
It was noted that there is some support in the community to increase the
Park budget .
There was a question on the comments and Mr. Schumacher said the comments
need to be typed.
Mr. Schumacher reported that Mr. Volk will be meeting with the reporter
to design a method of publishing a map denoting the location of the City
Parks . Mr. Schumacher felt it would helpful if an article in conjunction
with the survey could be published at the same time .
Mayor Benson had some questions as to how these figures were arrived at
and if it is possible to determine the number of persons who would use
the parks rather than the number of times the facilities would be used.
Mrs .
