Park Board <br /> May 2 , 1983 <br /> The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Park Board was called to order <br /> by Chair man Johnson with the following members present; R . Johnson , <br /> LeBlond, Scherer. Absent: Lindy , Arntzen, Flannery . <br /> MINUTES - April 4 , 1983 <br /> Mr. Scherer moved to approve the minutes as presented. Seconded by <br /> Mrs . LeBlond. Motion carried unanimously . <br /> SHENANDOAH PARK <br /> The matter of the holding pond was to be discussed. The ParK Board <br /> had felt the size of this pond has been growing and they had requested <br /> a representative from Glenn Rehbein to be present to discuss this <br /> matter . <br /> Mr.Harvey Karth was present and he said it had not expanded since <br /> last Fall and he explained the pond pointing out the locations on a <br /> map. Mr. Karth said there will be no more material removed from that <br /> area . The slopes of the area will be graded to a more gentle slope. <br /> There was some discussion on the possibility of flooding on the North <br /> end of the Park and it was pointed out this is a County ditch and is <br /> probably working better than any other ditch in the City . <br /> Mr. Karth said, that after the sloping had been completed, then the <br /> entire area will be seeded. <br /> MR . JIM KLIENHAUS - BMX TRACK <br /> Mr. Johnson noted that all members should have received a copy of his <br /> proposal . Mr. R. Johnson felt that Mr. Klienhaus should be commended <br /> for undertaking such an operation. <br /> Mr. Klienhause reported that this proposal has been submitted to the <br /> officials involved in this type of sport and they had told him, that <br /> if the track is built according to the specifications submitted, then <br /> they will sanction the track. <br /> Mr. Klienhaus had also received a call from the Jr. Chamber of Commerce <br /> offering their assistance. The Schwinn dealer on 242 & 65 they will <br /> donate bikes , parts and equipment for prizes .Gold Line Equipment will <br /> supply all tropies for the first race at half price . <br /> Mr. Klienhaus explained the classifications that the boys are divided <br /> into according to age and ability. This is also a sport that adults <br /> of all ages can participate in. <br /> Mr. Klienhaus said this track would be basically for the purpose of <br /> teaching the kids how to ride and the safety factors involved. <br /> Mr. Klienhaus reported that he has tires to line the track. several <br /> n parents to assist , and persons to assist in the construction of the <br /> track. <br />
