Park Board <br /> February 7, 1983 <br /> The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Park Board was called to order <br /> at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Johnson with all members present. Mr. <br /> Schumacher was also present . <br /> Mayor Benson requested time to discuss an issue he felt the Park Board <br /> should consider. <br /> Mayor Benson requested the Park Board to consider the idea of selling <br /> the Country Lakes Park. The proceeds from this sale could be put in <br /> the Dedicated Fund for the development of the other parks . Mayor <br /> Benson felt the Regional Park will subsitute recreation for that area _ <br /> The Park Board had some concerns; 1) where would the money go after <br /> the sale of the land; 2) is that park land developable for residential <br /> purposes; 3) how much money can the Park Board really obtain for the <br /> sale of this land to be used for development of the other parks 4) how <br /> would this affect future Park Grant funding - would it have a negative <br /> impact on future applications; 5) would this take away land needed for <br /> future parks . <br /> Mayor Benson thanked them for their time and requested that this matter be <br /> considered. <br /> MINUTES <br /> Mr. Arntzen moved to approve the minutes as presented. Seconded by Mr. <br /> Scherer. Motion carried unanimously . <br /> MOTORIZED VEHICLES IN PARK <br /> Chief Myhre explained the enforcement problems stating that the depart- <br /> ment needs the cooperation of the public. Eye witnesses are ',needed. <br /> Violation of the ordinance is a misdemeanor . <br /> Members of the Park Board felt there should be more time spent by the <br /> Department on surveillance . They also requested that more signs be <br /> posted in the Parks . <br /> Chief Myhre noted that the existing State Law is strong enough to <br /> eliminate the problem if enforced. <br /> The Park Board directed Chief Myhre to publish informational articles <br /> on the laws dealing with motorized vehicles on park property .. <br /> They also requested that the signs be ordered now for posiiigin the <br /> parks in the Spring. <br /> PARK SURVEY <br /> Mr. Flannery presented the amended survey for review. The members <br /> n added a number of questions and clarified others . . <br /> Mr. R. Johnson moved to adopt the opinion survey and present to the <br />
