Park Board <br /> OctQLQx # Il982 <br /> Page Three <br /> /�. The general consensus of the Board was this survey would provide them with <br /> some direction as to the needs of the community . <br /> The Board went through the survey deleting some items and adding others . <br /> Mr . Flannery is to prepare a completed version for the Board , <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Mr. Scherer asked how much the Park Board wanted to get involved in the <br /> construction of the Senior Citizen 's Center? do they want to consider a <br /> warming house? storage room? bathrooms ? what ? <br /> Mr. K. Johnson asked just what does the Parks really need as to storage <br /> space? and for what? <br /> Mr. Volk noted that there is some storage space at Sunrise Park . The biggest <br /> problem now is warming house facilities and bath rooAlfacilities . <br /> There was a suggestion that $3000 . 00 be put in the Park budget each year <br /> for the constrrction of whatever is decided. This amount should be kept <br /> in the budget for the next 5 years . <br /> It was also noted , the Park Board would only be interested if the Senior <br /> Citizen Center is constructed on the West side of City Hall . <br /> It was also noted that two members of the Park Board are on the building <br /> committee . The Board 's ideas can be presented to the committed by those <br /> members . <br /> Mr . R . Johnson asked about the 'No Parking' signs to be posted at Lino <br /> Park - Mr . Volk reported they have been ordered . <br /> Mr . R . Johnson reported to the Board that the Lions ' Club had -�>eal7coated <br /> the park-Ing lot at Lino Park . <br /> Mr . K. Johnson moved that this Board approve a Resolution thanking the <br /> Lions ' Club for this seal coating and a Letter be sent to that organization . <br /> Seconded by Mr . Arntzen . Motion carried unanimously . <br /> Mr . K. Johnson asked about the construction of the tennis courts in Arena <br /> Acres - had anything been accomplished to ensure that construction? MR . <br /> Volk reported this had been made a part of their Letter of Credit . <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> The 1983 proposed budget was discussed . Mr. K. Johnson asked if the cuts <br /> in the 1982 budget had anything to do with keeping the 1983 budget low? <br /> Mr . Volk said , No , just that all departments kept their budgets as low <br /> as possible . The Park Board asked to be notified whA* their budget is <br /> being considered by the Council . <br /> Mr. K. Johnson questioned the $1000 . 00 for the Centennial Recreation <br /> Program why one and not all three districts? Mr . Volk said that this <br /> Association presented their report to the City Council had their request <br /> for assistance in the funding . <br />
