Park Board <br /> March 1 , 1982 <br /> The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Park Board was called to order at <br /> 7 : 00 P .M . by Acting Chairman LaBlond . Members present ; LeBlond , Scherer, <br /> Lindy, R. Johnson . Absent ; K. Johnson, Arntzen, Flannery . <br /> MINUTES <br /> Mr . Scherer asked what the purpose of having minutes of the meetings? He <br /> felt that it is to record the discussion and record what the actions of the <br /> board was at those meetings . Mr . Scherer said , if that was the case he <br /> would disapprove these minutes . He said the combination of getting a <br /> building to serve both the Senior Citizens and the Community has been <br /> omitted . He felt there should be some mention of this in the minutes . <br /> He would like the minutes amended to include the conversation of how this <br /> building could be used by the community and how this could be accomplished . <br /> Mrs . LQBlond suggested that in the future , if the members of the Park <br /> Board feel something they are discussing should be a part of the minutes , <br /> they make a note of it on the tape . <br /> Mr . Scherer moved to approve the minutes as presented . Seconded by Mr . <br /> Lindy. Motion carried unanimously . <br /> COUNTRY LAKES PARK PLAN <br /> This discussion was delayed and Item 4 was discussed . <br /> n <br /> VFW FUTURE PARK PROJECTS <br /> This is in reference to a letter from Mr . Volk to the VFW. <br /> Mr . Schumacher reported that the VFW was looking for projects and Mr . Volk <br /> had written a letter to that organization noting the things that could be <br /> used in the City Parks . There has been no answer at this date . <br /> This item is for informational purposes . only . <br /> Mr . Ray Johnson suggested that this letter be forwarded to the Lions Club <br /> also for their input . <br /> Mr . Johnson asked about the operating budget of the City Parks -fhe only <br /> thing he has ever seen is capital outlay - is that the only expenditures <br /> that the park department has ? <br /> Mr. Schumacher said there is an operating budget that is part of the <br /> overall City budget and this is for the current expenses of operating and <br /> maintaining the parks and does not include capital outlay . <br /> Mr . Johnson said he had been approached and asked if the Park Board was <br /> going to do anything to improve the ball fields . <br /> There was discussion of the agencies who have donated time and equipment <br /> being thanked for their donations . Mr . Schumacher assured the Board that <br /> Thank You letters have been sent to those organizations . <br /> Mr . Scherer suggested an article in the newspaper noting the participation <br /> of the organizations as to what they have done in the area of the parks . <br />
