Park Board March 1 , 1982 Page Three will continue to do so . PROPOSED ARCHAEOLOGICAL TESTING - COUNTRY LAKES PARK Mr . Schumacher had prepared a request for bids to do this work which is required by the Historical Society . Copies had been made for the Board Members and this request was gone through and discussed noting the basic requirements as set forth by the State . Mr . Schumacher said there are eight people in the State who are qualified to do this work and he felt: these persons should be contacted . Mr . Ray Johnson moved to authorize Mr . Schumacher to submit this request . Seconded by Mr . Lindy . Motion carried unanimously . DNR LAKE SURFACE ORDINANCE Mr . Schumacher reported that he has not received any material on this subject as of this date . This item should be on the April agenda . VFW DONATION The Park Board had requested an update on the donations from this organiza- tion . Mr . Schumacher reported on the amount received and noted that this money had been spent for park equipment per the VFW request . OLD BUSINESS Mrs . Elsenpeter asked if the Park Board would be interested in working with the City in conjunction with the construction of the Senior Citizen ' s Center with perhaps some addition to the Center that would be designed for Park use . There was discussion on several possibilities of perhaps building a dual purpose structure . Mr . Schumacher felt that the need for additional office space is well known, the need for a park building at this site has been designed , the Senior Citizen Building must' be designed - he felt that all these areas should be considered and worked into perhaps one building program . He felt the Park Board should leave this compeltely flexiable, Mr . Lindy suggested making a list for submission to the Council for their consideration . as to what the Park Board would like to see constructed at the same time as the Center is constructed . Basically what the Park Board is looking for is a warming house , bathroom facilities and equipment storage . This could be incorporated into whatever design is chosen for the Center . Mr . Ken Johnson and Mr . Peter Scherer will put this list together . Mr . Scherer asked if the parks had been ' signed ' ? Mr . Schumacher reported that the Council had deferred this until after this season and Mr . Volk is to present a complete report as to the damage .
