November 3 , 1980 <br /> The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Park Board was called to order at <br /> 7 :30 P .M. , on November 3 , 1980 , by Chairman Liljedahl . Members present; <br /> Scherer, Shaughnessy , Johnson, Crouse. Absent; Foster . <br /> Mr . Scherer moved to approve the minutes as presented with a comment that <br /> the reports from the Police Department on the activities in the Park had <br /> not been received, he wondered where they were . Seconded by Mr . Johnson . <br /> Motion carried unanimously . <br /> The first item on the agenda was a report from MzS. Doris Sullivan with a <br /> report on the progress of the park planning. <br /> Mrs . Sullivan presented maps showing the buffer zones for the playing areas <br /> in Sunrise Park. She suggested moving one of the parking lots or perhaps <br /> eliminating this parking lot and using only the one in the center. Her <br /> next step on this park is to finalize the plan . <br /> She also presented suggestions for planting to outline the park area thus <br /> marking the borders and leaving an area that could be used for touch football . <br /> There was suggestions for the types of trees and shrubs that should be <br /> planted around the area . There was some discussion on where the parking <br /> should be located and Mr. Sullivan gave her reasons for indicating the <br /> locations on the map. <br /> After some discussion , Mrs . Sullivan asked if the previously indicated <br /> parking lot near the Little League fields should be left - if this is the <br /> ,---., wishes of this Board, she will redraw the lot at that location , she also <br /> indicated that she would include recommendations for placement of shrubery <br /> in her final plan . <br /> Mrs . Sullivan reported on the Country Lakes Parks and indicated that this <br /> is her favorite planning process - a vacant piece of land that can be started <br /> from the beginning and the areas that should be retained, can be noted without <br /> having to deal with already established play areas . . She presented a <br /> suggestion for a beach area and discussed the various soils in the area , <br /> noting their limitations . <br /> Mrs . Sullivan suggested that the natural growth be retained as much as <br /> possible and she presented some suggested areas that should have some <br /> additional planting. <br /> Mr . Scherer moved to recommend to the Council that authorization be given <br /> for Mrs . Sullivan to complete this plan . <br /> Mrs . Sullivan asked if she should come back before this Board before she <br /> finalizies this plan and the general consensus of the Board was that she <br /> should . <br /> The motion was seconded by Mr. Shaughnessy and carried unanimously . <br /> Mrs . Liljedahl asked Mr . Volk about the parking lots and Mr . Volk said it <br /> ,—,,might be possible to get some work done on one of the lots but he did not <br /> know at this point in time . <br /> Mr . Johnson presented his ideas on the development of the tot lot at the <br /> City Hall Park. After some discussion on the various types of equipment <br /> available, it was decided that-Mr. Volk should contact a couple of the <br />
