February 4 , 1980
The ;egyla,r i9eet ng of the Lino Lakes Park Board was called to order
at 7 : 30 P ,M. on Feb . 4 , 1980 , by Chairman Liljedahl . Members present;
Crouse, Foster, Johnson , Scherer, Shaughnessy . Absent; Cheesebrough .
Mrs . Liljedahl reported that she had had a phone call from Mr.
Cheesebrough saying that he will be resigning from the Park Board . A
letter will be sent to both the Park Board and the Council . A new
member will needed for that Board.
Mr. Scherer moved to approve the minutes of January 7 , 1980 . Seconded
by Mr . Shaughnessy . Motion declared passed.
Mr. Glenn Rehbein was to have been on the agenda but he was unable to
attend.
The preliminary park comprehensive plan was considered . The capital
outlay as set forth in this plan was discussed at length . Mr.
Schumacher and Mr. Volk explained the priority rating.
Mrs. Liljedahl inquired into the plans for the all season building and
Mr . Volk said they are not ready at this time .
Mr. Scherer questioned the one acre on LaMotte Road and suggested that
perhaps this should be sold. He felt with the facilities available in
Centerville, this would be a duplication of facilities . Mr. Volk
explained this land would be graded, seeded and kept mowed, with no
other improvements planned. This could be used by the kids in the
neighborhood for whatever they wanted.
It was suggested, that since the question of sale had been discussed,
perhaps this should be investigated. This Board would ask Mr. Schumache
check what is neccesary for the sale of this lot - if in the future
this should be a decision that will be made .
The 1981 Capital improvement plans were explained by Mr. Volk. This
is to include almost the complete development of the City Hall Park.
There is a hocky rink planned for Lino Park and Sunrise Park, with
lights at Sunrise - also some work on tot lots at Sunrise . The hockey
rink at Sunrise would be a replacement - the lighting would be for the
pleasure rink. There is also budgeted for improvements in the Lakes
Add. Park. _
7'he capital improvement programs for the years was gone through and
discussed. , It was generally felt by the members that -more time is
needed .to really understand this proposal . Mr. Schumacher suggested
that someone from this Board attend the public hearing to be held on
the Comprehensive Land Use Plan of which this plan is a part .
Mr. Schumacher reported on his conversation with Mr. Glenn Rehbein on
the Park in Shenandoah I. This park is to be completed by June 1 , 1980 .
The Park Board felt that some action should be taken on this matter.
Mr. Scherer moved that no more bulling permits be issued until this
park is completed . Seconded by .Mr. Shaughnessy . There was discussion
on the timing of this work. Mr. Scherer moved that Mr . Rehnein be
asked to submit a letter of Credit with a June deadline to get this
work completed. Mr. Scherer moved that no building permits be issued
