The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Recreation and Environmental Commission was called ,o-� to order at 8:01 P.M. Monday, February 5, 1979 by 1978 Vice Chairman Liljedahl . Members present: Liljedahl , Foster, Cheeseborough, Scherer, Shaughnessy, Crouse, Johnson. Members absent: none. Mr. Zelinka, Council Liason was also present. Election of Officers Mr. Shaughnessy nominated Mrs. Liljedahl as Chairman. Mr. Foster seconded the motion. Motion declared passed. Mr. Scherer nominated Mr. Shaughnessy as Vice-Chairman. Mr. Foster seconded the motion. Motion declared passed. Mr. Zelinka's Report Mr. Zelinka reported to the Council the items discussed with Mr. Short, City Planner. He asked the Clerk to request a copy of the State Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORN so that it may be reviewed by the Park Board in August, 1979. Mrs. Liljedahl asked what the situation was regarding the property on 20th Avenue that the Board members looked at as a possible park site. Mr. Zelinka said that Mr. Herbst had not been contacted as yet. He asked the Clerk to contact Mr. Herbst and determine if this land could be availablefor park use. The Clerk showed the Board the proposed plat of quadraminimums. The Board asked that the contractor provide at least one large or two smaller tot lots within the quadramin- imums plat. Mr. Zelinka suggested that maybe work on a City wide park plan could be accomplished faster within committees . Chairman Liljedahl asked for three volunteers. The comm- ittee will consist of Ken Johnson, Tom Shaughnessy and Charles Cheeseborough. Mr. Scherer suggested that the Planning and Zoning Board could also appoint a committee to work with the Park Committee on the City Plan. Mr. Scherer will be placed on the Planning and Zoning agenda for February to talk to the P & Z Board and ask if they will appoint a three member committee to meet with the Park Committee Tuesday, February 27, 1979 at 8:00 P.M. to work on the City Park Plan. The Park Comittee will meet at 7:30 P.M. to elect a spokesman. Mr. Scherer moved to adjourn at 9:30 P.M. Mr. Shaughnessy seconded the motion. Aye.
