March 20, 1978 <br /> The regular meeting of the Lino lakes Park, Recreation and Environmental Commission was <br /> called to order at 8:00 P.M., March 20, 1978 by Chairman Resch . Members present: Resch, <br /> Liljedahl , Scherer, Shaughnessy, Johnson. Members absent: Crouse. Mr. Zelinka, Council <br /> liason was not present. <br /> The minutes of the February 6, 1978 meeting were considered. Mr. Scherer moved to acept <br /> the minutes as written. Mr. Shaughnessy seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Mr. Resch gave the Clerk a copy of the March 17, 1978 Review, the Metropolitan Council <br /> Bulletin for. Community Leaders and pointed out the item regarding a Grants Workshop to <br /> be held on April I , 1978. He suggested that someone should attend these workshops. <br /> The Clerk noted that the Council had recinded the motion regarding the $150.00 per living <br /> unit park fee that was to be collected at the time a building permit was issued. Mr. Locher <br /> had noted that there is no statutory law upholding this action and the City could be liable <br /> for a law suit. <br /> Old Business <br /> Mrs. Liljedahl said she would like to get started on construction of a parking lot at <br /> City Hall Park. She noted that monies from developers will be coming in and the park- <br /> ing lot is a priority. The Clerk was asked to contact Mr. Volk for cost estimates. <br /> New Business <br /> ' Nr. Resch told the Board the 4 H will be planting trees and flowers at City Hall Park <br /> and Lino Park. The trees have been ordered and the 4 H Club will get together with Mr. <br /> Volk before planting. <br /> Mr. Resch reserved the two ballfields at City Hall Park for Monday through Thursday at <br /> 6:30 P.M. starting May 23, 1978 through the month of July. Mr. Resch will call the clerk <br /> and let her know what the Lino Park schedule will be. <br /> The Board decided to view each park on April II , 1978 starting at 6:00 P.M. The Board <br /> will meet at City Hall and all members should attend. The Clerk was asked to notify each <br /> member prior to April II , 1978. <br /> Mr. Scherer asked how the biketrail system will work. Will it keep bikes out of traffic? <br /> Who will police it? Has there been any mention of licensing bikes? There was further <br /> discussion. <br /> Mrs. Liljedahl moved to adjourn at 8:40 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Shaughnessy. Aye. <br /> 11� <br />
