July 15, 1974 <br /> The regular meeting of the Park, Recreation and Environmental Commission was <br /> called to order on July 15, 1974 at 8:10 p.m. by acting Chairman Mr. Clausen. <br /> Members present; Kendall, Brisson and LeTourneau. Absent; Kent, McGeary and Re-Sch. <br /> Mr. McLean was also present. <br /> r-Irct. Lem-ourneau moved to approve the minutes of June 17, 1974 as written. Seconded <br /> Y-Y Mrs. Kendall. Motion carried. <br /> MrT,. I:endall motioned to request the Council to allow the Civil Defense to provide <br /> c:s;;i trctininq (with no range activity) in Sunrise Park warding house. It would be <br /> fon the month of August, Tuesdays and Thursday's, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Charles Cape to <br /> uw�ervise. Seconded by Mrs. Brisson. Motion carried. <br /> m1r. Clausen made a motion to paint the warming hone benches and then return therm <br /> to Sunrise Park. Seconded by M:s. Kendall. Motion carried. Mr. McLean will <br /> Mr. Johnson to purchase the paint for the benches and then transport the benches <br /> to Sunrise Park. <br /> Airs. Kendall was instructed to obtain color sample's and prices for the warming <br /> :muse and barn at Sunrise Park. This will be presented at the next meeting. <br /> ,r. Clausen was instructed to obtain prices for goals, back screens, grading the <br /> -•ocky rinks with Village equipment and running sights for leveling. He will contact <br /> t.h3 City Engineer and have a report for the next meeting. <br /> mr. Kent is to check the location of the backstop for the second ball diamond at <br /> {-lie City Hall. If the backstop is to close to the road, then restake it to the <br /> proper location. Then notify Mr. McLean and Mr. Johnson to move the backstop. <br /> Mr. Johnson is to complete the 2nd diamond and backstop within the next 10 days. <br /> Mr. Ardell Braaten from the Anoka Highway Department called July 11, 1974. He will <br /> be installing 4 signs saying "Playground Area". <br /> It was reported that the fence posts and gate are in at Lino Park. But the last <br /> peice of chain links are missing. The Clerk will contact the contractor to get <br /> the screening in before payment is made. <br /> Mrs. Brisson and Mrs. LeTourneau presented some of their long range plans. The <br /> long range bike trail, local park requirements and layouts will be firmed up for <br /> the next meeting. <br /> Mr. McLean gave a presentation of the situation on the Metro Open Space meeting <br /> of June 26, 1974 that he and Mr. Marier attended. <br /> The next Metro Open Space meeting will be July 16, 1974. Those attending this <br /> meeting will be; Mrs. LeTourneau, Mr. Marier, Air. McLean and Mr. Clausen. Plus <br /> any others interested to know the current status. <br /> s"\ <br />
