r� <br /> CITY OF LINO LAKES <br /> PARK BOARD MEETING <br /> M0NDAY, OCTOBER 3, 1994 <br /> The City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was called to order at <br /> 6:33pm by Chairperson, George Lindy. <br /> Roll Call was taken, members present: George Lindy, Sharon Lane, <br /> Brian Bourassa, Pam Taschuk, Ken Johnson, and Joe Schmidt. Also <br /> present were Marty Asleson, Park, Recreation and Forestry <br /> Coordinator, Linda Elliot, City Council Liaison, Barry Bernstein, <br /> Recreation Program Supervisor, and Sandie Wood, Recording <br /> Secretary. Not present was Amy Donlin. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Sharon Lane made a motion to approve the <br /> September 7, Park Board meeting minutes and the minutes from the <br /> September 22, Goal Setting Session meeting. Ken Johnson seconded <br /> the motion and they were approved with no additions or <br /> corrections. <br /> OPEN MIKE: There was no one present to speak under Open Mike. <br /> CONCEPT REVIEW: Marshan Lake Townhomes - Mary Asleson gave an <br /> overview of the Marshan Lakes Townhomes Development. He <br /> explained that it is 29.9 acres with 23 .9 acres above the <br /> wetlands (buildable) development bounded by Aqua Lane to the <br /> South, Lake Drive to the West, Marshan Lake to the East, and the <br /> Shores of Marshan Lake to the North. There is a proposed 1.6 <br /> acre General Business zone on the Southwest corner of this <br /> development. The area is zones R-4, with 18 buildings, 12 <br /> townhomes per building for a total of 216 townhome units, or 9.04 <br /> units per acre. <br /> The Shores of Marshan Lake Park area M-2, is projected to have a <br /> total park area need of 5 acres. The Shores of Marshan Lake <br /> Development resulted in a 1.9 acre park dedication. The Shores <br /> of Marshan Lake Townhomes would add another 3 . 8 acres of <br /> contiguous park acreage for a total of 5.7 acres. This satisfies <br /> our need for park land in this area according to the <br /> Comprehensive Park Plan. <br /> The remaining part of Trail Segment 18 South to Aqua Lane would <br /> be completed as part of this project as well as a trail link to <br /> the adjoining presently dedicated land. The trail link addition <br /> to the south creates an access to the regional park via Aqua <br /> Lane. <br /> Marty stated that according to the park dedication ordinance, a <br /> development with a density of 9 or more units would need an 18% <br /> park land dedication. Accordingly, the acreage total or cash <br /> ^ dedication would be for 4 .30 acres. The remaining portion of the <br /> 4 .3 acres or .50 acres would be based on fair market value of the <br /> 1 <br />
