PARK BOARD MINUTES <br /> January 8, 1990 <br /> Vice—Chairman Bob Williams called the regular meeting of the <br /> Lino Lakes Park Board to order at 7 : 02 p.m. , Monday, January <br /> 8, 1990 at the Lino Lakes City Hall . Members present were: <br /> Bob Williams , Bill Nissen, Ken Johnson, Candy Toffoli , John <br /> Bauman and George Lindy. Members Absent : Ray Johnson. Also <br /> present were: Public Works Director, Don Volk; Parks <br /> Superintendent , Marty Asleson; and Planning Secretary, Laura <br /> Elken. <br /> CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br /> Bill Nissen suggested deleting paragraph 3 , page 2 of the <br /> December minutes . This paragraph dealt with park dedication <br /> in Timber Ponds . Dollar amounts were listed in this <br /> paragraph, but were not discussed at the meeting. <br /> Laura. Elken asked about page 3, under old business . Stating <br /> that Lino Lakes approved the Joint Powers Agreement was <br /> wrong. Actually the City Council approved the Joint Powers <br /> Agreement Concept with their comments and changes . The City <br /> of Circle Pines have also approved the Joint Powers Agreement <br /> in Concept . This was changed in the minutes . <br /> Bill Nissen approved the December Park Board Minutes as <br /> corrected. George Lindy seconded the motion and the motion <br /> was approved unanimously. <br /> CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN UPDATE/DON VOLK, MARTY ASLESON. <br /> A Preliminary plan was submitted to the board members . <br /> Marty Asleson stated that this is a capital improvement plan <br /> for the next five years . The plan showed every city park and <br /> what staff hopes to accomplish at each park within the next <br /> five years . <br /> Within the next month the board members will review the list <br /> and inform staff of any opinions or changes they would like <br /> to see. <br /> This will be reviewed at council level . <br /> Marty Asleson suggested plowing snow off city lakes adjacent <br /> to parks for ice skating. <br /> Don Volk stated that when the city decades to develop vacant <br /> park land like the city hopes to accomplish at Sunset Oaks , <br /> neighborhood meetings will be scheduled to discuss park needs <br /> with the residents . <br /> Ken Johnson asked about remodeling of the shelter at Lino <br /> Park. Marty explained that he would like to use a portion of <br /> the shelter as a warming house. Part of it is being used as <br /> Page 1 <br />
