a-a l
MEMORANDUM
TO: Marty Asleson - Park & Recreation
FROM: Mary Ray Wyland - Planning Coordinator
DATE: September 30, 1992
SUBJECT: Park Dedication and Planning Items
This memo is in response to concerns expressed by the Park
Board at their September 8th, 1992 meeting.
,. Two simple subdivisions were reviewed by the Planning & Zoning
Board in the recent past. One involved the split of one lot
into two at 985 Birch Street and the other involved the split
of one lot into three on North Road. It was the understanding
of the Planning Department that approval for these two
subdivisions included payment of the required Park Dedication
Fee at the time of issuance of building permits.
The request involving Northern Instrument did not address Park
Dedication nor did the paving of a parking area for Buys
Chiropractic.
City Staff will be addressing the issue of Park Dedication and
a procedure to follow in relation to simple subdivisions and
commercial additions at their next Project Management Meeting
scheduled for Wednesday, October 7th. At this time we do not
have a clear cut procedure for these matters and it has lead
to some confusion for staff. I will be happy to submit
something in writing for review by the Park Board after this
Project Management Meeting.
If you, or the Park Board have any additional questions
regarding this matter, please let me know.
REF:mk42
