DATE OF ORIGIN: August 31, 1992 TO: Parks & Recreation Board Members City of Lino Lakes FROM: Marty Asleson Parks, Recreation, and Forestry, Coordinator OVERVIEW STATEMENTS: • The City of Shoreview has given the City of Llno Lakes the opportunity to purchase one of their older park buildings for$1.00 to make way for a new facility. • The building is a hexagon shape about 30` across (approximately 400 s,f.) The inside of the building is open, Y�,i,h no interior walls_ The ceiling has exposed trusses with lights. The entire structure has been insulated and is usat>ltr for winter activities. '~ One side of the building has a ra,,-up garage door. The building requires a concrste sia j for a base. No footings should be required, except perhaps for the center support. • Although older, the building has been well taken care of and is in reasonably good shape. STAFF COMMENTS/ISSUES FOR CONSIDERATION: The building provides a for i,s, City to acquire an o';ier ,,at sFruc'ura'!v building for virtually no cost. • The total estimated cost associated with relocating the building is between$4,900 acid$7,800, including th$iollowing: 1) Transport from Shoreview to selected site in Lino lakes: $2.500 to <5,000 (rough estimate - not confirmed). 2) Site preparation: $800.00. 3) Concrete footing and slab: $1,600 to $2,000 4) Utilities (electric, water, etc.): zither already available or at a latter date. • At this time, staff sees dis ci;:! npl,'ors for iocaflng the building: Country uikas F arK (C 1) and birch Park {tv 11).
