k+
MEMORANDUM
TO: All Park Board Members
FROM: Marty Asleson-Parks, Recreation and Forestry
Coordinator
DATE: July 30, 1992
SUBJECT: Quail Ridge
Please find attached a copy of the most recent concept for park
dedication in Quail Ridge. This development has been to the Parks
and Recreation Board previously, but since then has been requested
to be changed under a Planned Development Overlay (PDO) . The park
area is basically the same, but now includes the wetland areas. The
development total area equals 39.9 acres. The proposed usable park
area on the south and west end equals 3 . 1 acres. This area as
previously noted would convert via trail, to the Captain's Place
cul-de-sac. The total park acreage needed for the neighborhood
area is 6 acres according to our comprehensive plan. The developer
has provided trail through his development via the linear trail
corridor, cul-de-sac access and park trail link through the
wetlands. The combination of the two areas equal approximately 6
acres.
I have discussed this concept with other city staff, including Alan
Brixius our city planner, and everything appears to be in order.
SEH has prepared a trail cross section for the linear trail
corridor. This cross section shows that the linear trail corridor
can be engineered into the design. I have previously discussed this
development with Jeff Schoenbauer in the comprehensive planning
process, and the proposal includes the essential components needed.
Kirk Corson will be at the park board meeting to present his
proposal. Please call if you have any questions or thoughts on this
matter.
