9- 3
MEMORANDUM
TO: All Park Board Members
FROM: Marty Asleson, Parks, Recreation and Forestry
Coordinator
DATE: July 2, 1992
SUBJECT: Recreation Updates
,00*N
Please find an updated summary of statistical information for the
late Winter/Spring and current Spring recreation programs. As
accurately as possible, these records show participation and budget
figures.
One way to gauge program success is to compile such data. Obviously
programs that break even or show spectacular earnings are
worthwhile. We should not forget that there are programs that we
have also had subsidized by philanthropic groups that show a
deficit without subsidy, but are also very socially successful. Our
playground program is the prime example. There are also many
internally rewarding types of leisure that we can offer. We only
need to discover them.
