MEMORANDUM
TO: All Park Board Members
FROM: Marty Asleson
DATE: January 3, 1992
SUBJECT: Quail Ridge
Quail Ridge, also known as the Weaver Property has been in a state
of flux because of contingencies from both the trail standpoint and
the adjacent development (Pheasant Hills) standpoint.
As you recall, the dedication for this development hinged on the
premise that trail access would be allowed as proposed in exhibit
A, from the south and north. Letters from our city engineers to the
DNR and County Highway Department were written and a reply
received. Basically the DNR alluded to their permit system and
types of trails that work better in wetlands, and the County
Highway Department suggested that the culverts on the south side be
extended.
Also please find enclosed a copy of the necessary trail system
going from our proposed park dedication up to the island area. This
trail, as some of the proposed future comprehensive plan trails do,
borders the wetland to create more usefulness of these areas.
There was a question about where to cross to the island. This spot
should be at a point of least resistance, possibly where it is
located, or at the end of the two larger lots at the northwest
corner of the development. *
I will contact Kirk Carson of Hokanson Development and let him know
that this will be on the agenda.
* The connecting trail at the end of Wild Turkey Trail is also
important. This road, it was discussed, might simply dead-end or be
developed into a cul-de-sac of some sort where parking could be
facilitated.
