MEMORANDUM
TO: All Park Board Members
FROM: Marty Asleson
DATE: December 2, 1993
SUBJECT: Goals Review and the Shores of Marshan Building
I?Rioci Ties - 4 -A
If you forgot to return your goals priority sheets with the ratings
on them, please bring them to the Park Board meeting. We will meet
1/2 hr. early to discuss the priorities and give some weighted
averages to the ratings that were established.
In regards to the item # 16, the Shores of Marshan Lake Building,
because of the growth in staffing the City Council has determined
that Parks, Recreation, Forestry, and Recycling will be moving down
,. to this site. The City Council has established a budget of $43, 000
from the City general fund, $8,500 from the Recycling fund, and
$12,000 from the Dedicated Park fund. We have been assured that
there will be an adequate facility to operate out of. In the
future, if a new city facility is built, then the Parks and
Recreation department has a finished and usable building for use.
I feel that this is a very workable situation, and a good use of
dedicated park funds. We will have to eventually finish this
building sometime, and we defiantly have a need for indoor
recreation space, as well as a neighborhood facility.
Please bring your thoughts to the Park Board meeting. I have
attached a copy of the Park Board priorities, in case you need
another copy.
