AGENDA ITEM
STAFF ORIGINATOR Marty Asleson
DATE April 28, 1993
TOPIC Softball Field Programming
...............
Please find attached a copy of the field schedules for our
softball/baseball facilities. As indicated we have filled in times
on these facilities extensively except for Fridays and Sundays in
most instances. We are discussing the possibility of programming
some tournament play on the four adult fields that we have. These
fields are : Lino Park, Sunrise Park no.s 1&2, and Rice Lake
Elementary no.3
We have been approached by a person that would organize the
tournament for us. Since our fee schedule for this type of
activity is $125.00/ field/ day, we could on a weekend make
$1000.00, less our operating expenses for field grooming and
supervision. operating expenses might be` as much as $200.00.
The purpose of this report is to inform you, and solicit a
recommendation concerning this idea. The benefits are a new source
of income that would go into our special revenue account. The
other considerations are the use of these four fields during what
has been open fields in the past, intense use during these periods,
parking and additional traffic, and quite probably noise.
There are many variations on teen numbers and alternating weeks of
use to ball-field use that may ,be considered. Before we go any
further with a program plan we wish to hear how you feelabout this
in general terms.
Consider the options and possibilities.
