C wA unu ,ruti System Plan City of Lino Lakes
Figure 6.4 (Part 3 of 6). Trail System Legend
W
Q T.D. # Trail Approx. Length Description/Future Development Issues
Z 20 Transportation Trail 1.3 miles The trail begins at Sunset Road and runs along Elm Street until it crosses Lake Drive and ties into the park trail adjacent to Marshan Lake
LU (#18). Along Elm Street, it is intended to be located within the existing road right-of-way. County and State standards should be adhered
0 to as appropriate.A trail on one side of the road should be adequate to handle the anticipated traffic volumes. The crossing of Lake Drive
Q is important for circulation purposes. But since its a busy road,it is also important that the safety of the crossing be given due consideration.
A Class II level of trail should be appropriate the entire length of this trail.
21 Transportation Trail 1.1 miles The trail runs along Sunrise Drive from Elm Street to the trial along Lake Drive. It is intended to be located within the existing road right-
of-way. Although a local road, County and State standards should still be adhered to as appropriate for consistency.A trail on one side of
the road - preferably the east side-should be adequate to handle the anticipated traffic volumes. The crossing of Lake Drive is important
for circulation purposes. But since its a busy road, it is also important that the safety of the crossing be given due consideration. A Class 11
level of trail should be appropriate.
22 Transportation Trail 0.3 miles The trail is intended to run within an existing trail casement, Fsscntially, it is intended to allow for pedestrian movement from within the
subdivision(s) being developed along Lake Drive toward A-2 (Sunrise Park). No crossing is proposed across Lake Drive, A Class Il level of
trail should be appropriate.
23 Transportation Trail 0.3 miles The trail is intended to run along Aqua Lane from Lake Drive to the park trail adjacent to Marshan Lake (#18)as well as into the regional
trail system as shown. It is intended to be, located within the existing road right-of-way.Although a local road, County and State standards
should still be adhered to as appropriate for consistency, A Class II level of trail should be appropriate.
24 Transportation Trail 4.2 miles The trail runs along Birch Street from Hodgson Road to County Road #54. It is intended to be located within the existing road right-of-
way. County and State standards will need to be adhered to as appropriate.A trail on one side of the road should be adequate to handle
the anticipated traffic volumes.A Class II level of trail should be appropriate.
25 Park/Trans,Trail 0.6 miles For the most part, this particular trail is already been or will be constructed in the near future. As the plan shows,a fair portion of this segment
falls within a linear trail corridor,The northern most segment of the trail, which is shown as a transportation trail,is intended to provide a
link to the elementary school as well as the transportation trail along Birch Street.A controlled crossing or underpass will be needed to allow
pedestrians to safely cross Birch Street.A Class II level of trail should be appropriate for the entire length of this trail.
26 Park Trail 0.3 miles The trail runs southeasterly from the intersection of Hodgson Road and Birch Street to a point where it will cross Ware Road. Since the
area that the trail traverses lacks the natural character(i.e.,wetlands, woodlots, etc.)necessary for a linear trail corridor, a trail casement -
separate from road no.w.'s- should be used to provide safe pedestrian movement from the furthest development areas to the linear trail
corridors, open spaces, and parks.A Class 11 level of trail should be appropriate.
27 Park Trail 0,6 miles Picking up where #26 left off at Ware Road, the trail runs southeasterly toward neighborhood park N-10.About 2/3's of the trails length
will be located within a trail easement rather than a linear trail corridor. As with trail #26,the area lacks the natural character(i.e.,wetlands,
woodlots, etc.) necessary for a linear trail corridor. The objective of this trail is to provide safe pedestrian movement front within this
development area to the linear trail corridors, open spaces, and parks. The last third of this trail would be in a linear trail corridor that runs
directly adjacent to an existing wetland area.A Class II level of trail should be appropriate for the entire length of this trail.
28 Transportation Trail 2.2 miles The trail runs along Hodgson Road from Lake Drive to Ash Street, It is intended to be located within the existing road right-of-way, County
and State standards will need to be adhered to as appropriate.A trail on one side of the road should be adequate to handle the anticipated
traffic volumes. A Class II level of trail should be appropriate,
29 Transportation Trail 2.2 miles The trail runs along Ware Road and 62nd Street. The objective of the trail is to provide a safe means to access the linear trail system from
the development area north of 62nd Street between Hodgson Road and Ware Road.
6-22
