CITY OF LINO LAKES
PARK BOARD MEETING
MONDAY, DECEMBER 7, 1992
of the corps, not city staff" . His main concern is of course, it
will probably take at least two months.
It also should be noted that if the original trail concept is
approved by the Corps, it may be necessary to construct at least
100 feet of boardwalk. There was also some discussion about the
need to bring the trail on the west side back in alignment for the
next development to the south.
RECOMMENDATION: George Lindy made a motion to recommend "for the
Shores of Marshan Lake, concerning trail development: that the Park
Board would like to keep the original trail easement which follows
the shore of the lake. We would like to see the trail moved back to
the "raised" (oxcart trail) portion of land - east of the homes. If
this happens, then we would agree to vacate the existing approved
trail easement which has been agreed is too close to the homes and
an alternate 8 foot bituminous trail would follow Stagecoach Trail
- beginning at lot 14 - leaving a 7 1/2 foot easement to the lake
on lot 14 - traveling north to the north boundary of lot 8 - taking
a 15 foot easement from lot 8 - down to the existing trail easement
east of lots 1 - 2 and 3 per enclosed diagram of record. Also Mr.
Menkvelds staff will work with city staff to prepare permit
requests from the Corps of Engineers. " This motion was seconded by
John Bauman all were in favor, motion carried.
In closing, George Lindy suggested that if there is any way to
expedite the process with the help of city staff, Mr. Menkveld
should call either Marty Asleson or Don Volk and they will contact
him (Mr. Lindy) in the hopes of resolving any potential set-backs
that may arise.
Don Volk will try to get this issue to the City Council work
session coming up this Wednesday December 9 so they could act on
it. Mr. Menkveld says he will start the permit process
immediately.
N-14, Woods of Baldwin Lake - Clyde Rehbein - Marty Asleson
updated the board of the progress of this development. Mr. Clyde
Rehbein is planning a development here as was previously brought
before the board. Mr. Asleson distributed a letter from Mr. Rehbein
in which he explained his proposal for park dedication.
This is the area in which the City is looking to purchase property
for parkland (N-14) according to the comprehensive plan. Mr.
Rehbein's proposal would dedicate 2 . 18 of his property as noted on
the attached map. Also he proposes to move the pond in the area.
3
