AGENDA ITEM 5 A
MEMORANDUM
TO: Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Board
FROM: Marty Asleson
DATE: January 27, 1993
SUBJECT: Proposed City Hall Park Project
Don Volk at the last Park Board meeting introduced the idea of
using a U.S. Marine Corps construction battalion to work on a
project. City Hall Park was suggested because of the unused area on
the north side. Since then I was contacted by a Sergeant Ivanfeld
and we meet to discuss interest, and scope of the project.
The Marine Corps appears to be looking for training activities and
has a wealth of human and equipment resources available for this
type of project. According to Sergeant Ivanfeld, they would be
interested in the City Hall Park. He has notified me that they
have a surveyor and technical drawer available that could start to
do some preliminary work. I would like to see these people work
with Jeff Schoenbauer to develop a master plan for the park.
Insight into the over-all concept, space use and future expansion
need to be considered. I have placed this item on the goal summary
report. I will also ask Mr. Ivanfeld if he can attend the Park
Board meeting.
