I plan on using the property being offered for sale (parcel 1) for growing a garden, planting evergreen trees , and wildlife management. This property is of special interest to me because of my families friendship with the Charles Schlavin family. Charles Schlavin was raised on this property along with three brothers and four sisters. His father measured water depth and took water samples from Baldwin Lake for the Saint Paul Water Department. In 1939 my father met Charles Schlavin and they became_: best of buddies. My father and Charlie both fought in World War II. During this period of time, Charlie's father died. When the war was over, Charlie moved back to where he was raised. He married and then raised his family on parcel 1. My father also married and settled in Saint Paul where I was born and raised. Over the years their friendship continued. My father and I raised garden vegetables and soybeans , sharing our interest with Charlie on this land. In 1964 a decision was made by the Water Department that Charlie and his family must move. Since that time the land has been vacant. I currently live on lot 7 of the Arthur Thom Acres . My property adjoins Parcel 1 on the east side. I have many happy memories of the times I've spent on Parcel 1. To be the owner of this property would mean a lot to me. Thanking you in advance for your consideration of my proposal.
