COMMUNITY NEED
The communities of Circle Pines, Lexington ,
Centerville, Lino Lakes, and East Blaine do not have
indoor facilities for hockey programs. Consequently
the residents of our communities Must travel outside
Our area to access the appropriate facilities. This
generates additional cost to parents for travel expense
and channels local capital in the form of rental fees
to external Communities.
Prime time availability for an ice arena is typically
reserved for the residents of the community in which
the family resides. Less desirable times,if available
at all , is sold to the non-resident. This time can be
as early as 4: 30am or as late as 10: 30prrj. Hence, the
overall need statements can be summerized as:
* Satisfy The Ice Time NEEDS Of Our Youth
Hockey And Other Athletic Activities.
* Improve / Enhance Area Hockey Programs
INCENTIVE - WE DO NOT SEE THIS SITUATION IMPROVING IN
THE NEAR FUTURE! WE ALSO UNDERSTAND THE FAILURE OF THE
CENTENNIAL SCHOOL BOARD AND BELIEVE THE TASK MUST BE
DEVELOPED BY THE PRIVATE SECTOR.
