PARK BOARD <br /> h. July 7 , 1986 <br /> Chairman Ray Johnson called to order the regular meeting of the <br /> Lino Lakes Park Board at 7 : 00 P.M. , Monday, July 7 , 1986 . Members <br /> present : Ken Johnson, Baumann, and new member Kim James . Absent : <br /> Flannery, Lindy, Nissen. Also present were Don Volk , Public Works <br /> Director and Shar Foster, Secretary. <br /> The Board welcomed the newest member , Kim James to the Board. <br /> CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES - June 2 , 1986 <br /> Mr. Baumann moved to approve the minutes of the June 2 , 1986 Park <br /> Board meeting as presented. Mr. Ken Johnson seconded the motion <br /> which carried unanimously. <br /> COUNTRY LAKES PARK PROGRESS REPORT <br /> Mr. Volk reported the following progress at Country Lakes Park : <br /> - Dock delivered last week-will be installed this week . <br /> - Buoys and markers on order-probably will be delivered next week. <br /> - Gravel has been spread on the shoreline where the launch will be . <br /> - Three quotes have been received for signs in the park. The <br /> quotes were not brought before the Board because of the small <br /> dollar amounts . Probably a month before delivery of signs . <br /> - Picnic tables will be "transplanted" from other parks until <br /> the city crew can be scheduled to build new tables . Ray Johnson <br /> asked whether it may be suitable to put in concrete tables to <br /> alleviate damage done to wood tables in such a secluded area. <br /> Mr. Volk will check prices . <br /> The park should be ready for a grand opening in about a month <br /> to a month and a half. The Park Board should be thinking about <br /> what they would like to plan for a grand opening . <br /> PROPOSED SCHOOL PROPERTY - BALLFIELD LAYOUT <br /> Mr. Volk reported that the plan for the layout of the proposed park <br /> on school property on Birch Street calls for about 7 to 8 acres for <br /> one ballfield, one soccer field and parking area. The Park Board <br /> needs to accept or reject this plan and if accepted the plan will <br /> be passed on to the school board. He stated that very little earth <br /> will need to be moved to accomplish the ballfields and that the <br /> party presently leasing the rest of the school property has offered <br /> to donate time to do the necessary grading. <br /> MOTION: Mr. Ken Johnson moved to approve the plan for the layout <br /> of ballfields / parking area on the proposed school property and <br /> have staff approach the school board for their consideration . Mr. <br /> Baumann seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> QUOTES FOR PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT AT LINO PARK AND ARENA ACRES PARK <br /> Mr. Volk reported that in reviewing the quotes for playground equip- <br /> ment which were presented at the June , 1986 meeting, some discrepancies <br /> were uncovered. The equipment was rebid to compare similar equipment . <br />
