PARK BOARD h. July 7 , 1986 Chairman Ray Johnson called to order the regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Park Board at 7 : 00 P.M. , Monday, July 7 , 1986 . Members present : Ken Johnson, Baumann, and new member Kim James . Absent : Flannery, Lindy, Nissen. Also present were Don Volk , Public Works Director and Shar Foster, Secretary. The Board welcomed the newest member , Kim James to the Board. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES - June 2 , 1986 Mr. Baumann moved to approve the minutes of the June 2 , 1986 Park Board meeting as presented. Mr. Ken Johnson seconded the motion which carried unanimously. COUNTRY LAKES PARK PROGRESS REPORT Mr. Volk reported the following progress at Country Lakes Park : - Dock delivered last week-will be installed this week . - Buoys and markers on order-probably will be delivered next week. - Gravel has been spread on the shoreline where the launch will be . - Three quotes have been received for signs in the park. The quotes were not brought before the Board because of the small dollar amounts . Probably a month before delivery of signs . - Picnic tables will be "transplanted" from other parks until the city crew can be scheduled to build new tables . Ray Johnson asked whether it may be suitable to put in concrete tables to alleviate damage done to wood tables in such a secluded area. Mr. Volk will check prices . The park should be ready for a grand opening in about a month to a month and a half. The Park Board should be thinking about what they would like to plan for a grand opening . PROPOSED SCHOOL PROPERTY - BALLFIELD LAYOUT Mr. Volk reported that the plan for the layout of the proposed park on school property on Birch Street calls for about 7 to 8 acres for one ballfield, one soccer field and parking area. The Park Board needs to accept or reject this plan and if accepted the plan will be passed on to the school board. He stated that very little earth will need to be moved to accomplish the ballfields and that the party presently leasing the rest of the school property has offered to donate time to do the necessary grading. MOTION: Mr. Ken Johnson moved to approve the plan for the layout of ballfields / parking area on the proposed school property and have staff approach the school board for their consideration . Mr. Baumann seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. QUOTES FOR PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT AT LINO PARK AND ARENA ACRES PARK Mr. Volk reported that in reviewing the quotes for playground equip- ment which were presented at the June , 1986 meeting, some discrepancies were uncovered. The equipment was rebid to compare similar equipment .
