MEMORANDUM
Date: August 29, 1996
From: Marty Asleson
To: Lino Lakes Park and Recreation Board
Subject: Rice Lake Estates Masterplan Update
The Rice Lake Estates/Baldwin Park area residents got together on
August 21st to discuss the concept plans as presented by George
Watson from Brauer and Associates. I have enclosed copies of
these plans that were presented.
There were a few issues brought up at this meeting:
1. The first is that the playground should be designed for a 10+
age group.
2. Second, The trail on the county portion should meander in
woods rather than on the property lines.
3. Third, it was agreed that at this time there should be no
scenic overlook/picnic area.
Priorities for development:
#1. Trail
#2. Tennis Court
#3. Basketball Court
Based on our budget of $40,000 in dedicated park funds, and the
sale of the two existing lots, George Watson thought we could
accomplish all three.
Mr. Watson will make revisions to the plan and we should than
resolve to adopt it, and get the agreement signed by both cities.
