I T ; . °`{' '_ ) F Environmental Memo
;;,.
LINOLAKFS
To: Katie Larsen
From: Andy Nelson
Date: July 7th, 2021
Re: Environmental Comments on Butler Addition
Environmental comments from July 7t", 2021 in blue.
1. Install tree protection fence at 1 foot radius per inch DBH (diameter at
breast height) around any trees near the construction zone that are to be
preserved. This will pertain to the tree line on the east perimeter of parcel
2. See City Tree Protection Fence Detail.
Notes on both the tree inventory and removals sheet and the landscaping
plan mention tree protection fence extending to the dripline. This note
does not reflect the distance mentioned in the city tree protection fence
detail, which is 1 foot radius per inch DBH. This will pertain to any trees
on site to be preserved, such as the pines on the east perimeter, the three
poplars noted for preservation west of the proposed house, and the maple
southwest of the proposed house. Tree protection fence (biologs on the
east perimeter) should be shown at the correct distances on the tree
inventory sheet and landscaping plan.
2. In addition to the tree protection fence, use staked biologs instead of silt
fence for erosion control on the east perimeter of lot 2 near the pine tree
line. This will result in less damage to the tree roots than silt fence.
Adhere to the same distance requirements mentioned in the Tree
Protection Fence Detail.
0 Page 1
