Also note that the survey ranked informal ball field, defined as a grass field
.- with a backstop at number 12 and the picnic shelter was 9th.
Tonight we are here to specifically request that you respond to our concerns
and entertain the following recommendations.
1. Proceed with the playground equipment purchase and location,
provided that you can assure us:
a. that if a ball field goes in it is and will remain informal -- a
multipurpose grass field with a backstop, and
b. the other facilities currently planned for this area will be
redistributed throughout the remainder of the park, especially
the picnic shelter. In our letter you will see our
recommendation for a location on the southern edge of the park
to ensure easier access to future parking, provide more even
distribution of traffic into and through the park, and provide a
more protected and natural setting. It even could be combined
with the nature overlook gazebo to maximize funds and
donations.
'-` 2. Make the trail the top priority after the playground equipment. It would
be nice to do it such a way as to provide some nature features, with
occasional benches or tables.
3. And last but not least, we look forward to working with you and the
other neighborhoods to come up with a park that is equitable and one that
we can all feel good about. We just can't have any more surprises. It has
just causes too much stress and ill will
Thank-you for your time and consideration.
