LA City o-f Lino Lakes Park Board Meeting s-� March 4, 1996 The March 4, 1996, City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was called to order at 6 :35pm by George Lindy, Chair. Roll call was taken, members present were George Lindy, Betty Piper, Amy Donlin and Joe Schmidt . Also present were Marty Asleson, Park, Recreation, and Forestry Coordinator, Barry Bernstein, Recreation Program Supervisor, and Sandie Wood, Recording Secretary. Not present were Pam Taschuk, Sharon Lane, and Ken Johnson. APPROVAL OF FEBRUARY 5, 1996 MINUTES: Betty Piper made a motion to approve the minutes as written. Amy Donlin seconded the motion and the minutes were approved. OPEN MIKE• There was no one present for open mike . UPDATES AND OLD BUSINESS: Survey Update: Marty told the board that money had been budgeted this year to do a resident survey. He said he agreed that between the Park Board Goals, the Comprehensive Plan and the 20/20 vision goals the city residents have spoken concerning the needs . The survey should address the priorities of these goals and the willingness to fund these priorities . We should also take this opportunity to address the quality issues . He attached a memo written to Dan Tesch concerning the people who have been involved in the setting of future city goals . These people are from the Park and Recreation Board, the 20/20 Vision Committee, the Comprehensive Parks Planning Committee, the Recreation Focus Committee, the ADA Committee, and a few who have stepped forward with special interests . He also included liaison to the City Council, Chris Lyden and Mayor, John Landers . Since this has turned into a multi-departmental effort, he suggested to sequester the groups for a "brain-storm" meeting with Decision Resources separately. Marty said the options were to accept the list of participators and process for the survey or make changes and refer back to staff . Marty' s recommendation was to accept the first option. 1
