yA &
AGENDA ITEM
STAFF ORIGINATOR: Marty Asleson
DATE: February 26, 1996
TOPIC: Parks and Recreation Survey Members
BACKGROUND
This year we were budgeted to conduct a resident survey. At the
last Park Board meeting we discussed the scope of this survey. I
agree that between the Park Board Goals, the Comprehensive Plan
and the 20/20 vision goals the City residents have spoken
concerning the needs . The survey should address the priorities
of these goals and the willingness to fund these priorities . We
should also take this opportunity to address the quality issues .
I have attached a memo to Dan Tesch concerning the people who
,.. have been involved in the setting of future city goals . These
people are our Park and Recreation Board, the 20/20 Vision
people, People from the Comprehensive Parks Plan Committee,
people from our Recreation Focus Committee, a person from our ADA
committee and a few people who have stepped forward with special
interest . I have also included our Liaison to the Council, Chris
Lyden, and our mayor, John Landers .
Since this has turned into a multi-departmental effort, it was my
suggestion to sequester the groups for a "brain-storm" question
meeting with Decision Resources separately.
Please bring any suggestion to the meeting.
OPTIONS
1 . Accept the list of participators and process for the survey.
2 . Recommend changes, and refer back to staff .
RECOMMENDATION
Option 1 unless there are change recommendations from the board.
