City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> October 6, 1997 <br /> The October 6, 1997, City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was <br /> called to order at 6 :37pm, by George Lindy, Chair. <br /> Roll call was taken, members present were Paul Montain, George <br /> Lindy, Sharon Lane, Joe Schmidt, Kim Sullivan, and Pam Taschuk. <br /> Betty Piper was absent. <br /> Also present were Barry Bernstein, Recreation Program Supervisor, <br /> and Sandie Wood, Recording Secretary. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM JULY 7 AND AUGUST 4 1997 MEETINGS• <br /> Pam Taschuk made a motion to approve the minutes from July and <br /> August . Motion was seconded by Kim Sullivan and approved <br /> unanimously. <br /> OPEN MIKE• <br /> There was no one present for open mike . <br /> OTHER OLD BUSINESS: <br /> n Highland Meadows - UPDATE: <br /> Barry gave background information from the August 4, 1997 <br /> meeting. He said Mike had met with Bruce Kerber on this issue . <br /> There was discussion about the age of people that use trails, <br /> total amount of park dedication and the easement under the power <br /> line. Bruce also talked about the 1 .27 acre tot lot . George <br /> asked what the exception was . Bruce stated it was an existing <br /> home. Kim asked about parking for this park. George explained <br /> that parking lots are not normally put in neighborhood parks . <br /> Kim asked if anything has been done environmentally for this <br /> park. Barry said there is only one area that has trees . Barry <br /> also said he and Mike have not walked this land but it is on <br /> highland and will be a beautiful park. George wanted to know if <br /> this development was going to be done in phases . Bruce said it <br /> would be done in three phases and showed the members where the <br /> phases would be. Pam asked what the timeline was for the various <br /> phases . Bruce said it could be fully developed within three <br /> years but the market, interest rates, and other factors could <br /> make it sell faster. Barry asked if they were going to do <br /> bituminous surfaced trails . Bruce said he was not sure but he <br /> will be going back to Planning and Zoning this week. Sharon <br /> asked if there was enough room for 1 or 2 informal fields . Barry <br /> said there is but there would have to be neighborhood meetings to <br /> see what they want in the park. George asked about the <br /> 1 <br />
