City of Lino Lakes Park Board Meeting May 5, 1997 not let us know. George asked if games take precedents . Barry said yes . Joe asked if a Lino Lakes resident could bump an individual from another city when scheduling a practice. Barry said reservation are done on a first come first serve basis . A Circle Pines resident may play on a Lino Lakes team so this is a very difficult situation. Pam asked if Barry how the participant numbers look for 1997 compared to 1996 . Barry said there are about 1500 participants this year. Paul said 5 years ago there were approximately 1100 . Paul asked about the school district owning land in Pheasant Hills (ECFE site) , and if temporary fields could be put on this land. He said the area could be seeded and maintained and used for ballfields at very little cost . George said he has spoken to John McClellan about this and asked him to show us a potential site plan. Then if the city had a plan and did develop some of the land, construction would not affect what improvements the city did. George said he would talk to Marty and see what the status was on this project . Paul said maybe the associations would help develop fields for ball or soccer. Barry commented that this would alleviate stress on the younger participants . PARK UPDATE• City Hall Park: Barry discussed two options for placement of the playground for City Hall Park. Barry explained that Option A would require alot of time to complete because of the amount of prep work that would be need to be done. There is a large slope that will have to be eliminated and a lot of fill required. Option B is a new site proposal . Equipment has been separated and little site prep would need to be done on this proposal . There will be a 8-10' rink access trail close to the east ballfield. Screening may have to be put up. City staff will be able to construct this option. 4
