496 <br /> City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> January 6, 1997 <br /> The January 6, 1997, City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was <br /> called to order at 6 :31pm, by Chair, George Lindy. <br /> Roll call was taken, members present were George Lindy, Betty <br /> Piper, Paul Montain, Pam Taschuk, Sharon Lane, Joe Schmidt and <br /> Amy Donlin. Also present were Marty Asleson, Park, Recreation, <br /> and Forestry Coordinator, Barry Bernstein, Recreation Program <br /> Supervisor, and Sandie Wood, Recording Secretary. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM NOVEMBER 4 AND DECEMBER 2 : <br /> George corrected the last sentence of the first paragraph of the <br /> minutes under the Birchwood/Park Grove Petitions from . . .and that <br /> 51% petitions needed to be presented to have changes considered. <br /> It should have read . . .a dynamic plan, that recreation needs <br /> change over time, and that if residents want changes made they <br /> should come before the Park Board. <br /> Joe Schmidt made a motion to approve the November 4 minutes as <br /> corrected and the December 2 minutes . Betty Piper seconded the <br /> motion and they were approved unanimously. <br /> n <br /> OPEN MIKE: There was no one present for open mike. <br /> Referendum, Survey Follow-up, and Athletic Complex: <br /> Marty included a letter from Decision Resources concerning a <br /> proposal for referendum campaign consulting services . He brought <br /> this item forward for discussion as a follow-up to the Quality of <br /> Life Survey results . <br /> He thought Brauer and Associates and Decision Resources would <br /> assist the city in doing a referendum. He asked Decision <br /> Resources for an estimate. In comparing our potential referendum <br /> needs with other cities they have assisted, they suggested <br /> allocating an overall amount not to exceed $2 , 500 . 00 . <br /> Marty has sent information and aerial photos to Cordellia <br /> Pearson. He has also met with Council Person Sally Kuether about <br /> the athletic complex. <br /> George said the Park Board needs to get on a future work session <br /> agenda to discuss the athletic complex and Park Board goals to <br /> see how they tie in with what the city is doing with the city <br /> center project . John said the board needs to meet with the <br /> council to see what their feelings are on this issue because he <br /> 1 <br />
