' / O .
C I T Y O F
LINOLAKES
PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT
MEMORANDUM
DATE: 1 1/18/96
TO: Park Board Members
FROM: Barry Bernstein, Recreation Program Supervisor
SUBJECT: Recreation Recap
I'm sorry that I could not present this information in person, but I am in
sunny Las Vegas visiting my mother for Thanksgiving.
I have listed below some items for your information.
The Winter brochure is currently being sent out to residents and I hope you
notice some new programs listed such as K-2 Youth Basketball, Self
Defense Class for adults and the Away for a Day Trips are being offered in
cooperation with North Metro Recreation. The theory behind this
cooperative venture is that neither agency can not get enough
participants alone to offer these trips. I will report back to you on how this
experiment worked.
Warminghouses
At the present time, I have just about filled all the vacancies for positions
this Winter. Last year at this time, I don't believe I had four people hired.
It is anticipated that we will open for the season on December 23, 1996.
Program update:
Open Volleyball
Our Open Volleyball program, that is held at Rice Lake School, is hurting
on attendance. The school, in the past, has not programmed any
activities on Fridays but is planning more and more events on Fridays now.
r-r
PARK, RECREATION, FORESTRY, & RECYCLING DEPARTMENTS
7204 Lake Drive• Lino Lakes,Minnesota• 55014
Phone:612-780-1885 • Fax:612-784-7227
