City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> September 4, 1996 <br /> other concern is office staffing and how that will impact us . <br /> This needs to be looked at closely. <br /> Other questions that were raised were what will the organization <br /> name be, what will the agreement look like, how often should it <br /> be reviewed, will there be a joint recreation board, and what <br /> happens if in the future a city does not have the money to be in <br /> this joint group. <br /> Joe asked if the other cities have a comprehensive park plan. <br /> Marty said Centerville and Circle Pines does . <br /> Joe Schmidt and Sharon Lane will be the liaisons for the <br /> consolidation committee. Marty said he will let them know when a <br /> meeting has been scheduled. <br /> FORESTRY UPDATE: <br /> Marty said the tree bids have been revised and sent out again <br /> because we did not receive any bids the first time . <br /> Lino Lakes was recognized at a ceremony in Blaine for the work we <br /> have done on oak wilt . <br /> Oak wilt control will be done in a couple of weeks and an <br /> inventory of natural resources in the area of the town center <br /> area is going to be done soon. <br /> PARK UPDATE• <br /> Birchwood Acres: Marty reported that the playground is basically <br /> finished and the tiles have been put in, the trail to the <br /> playground is rock, and he has met with residents on the <br /> strategic berming. Berming has been started by the ballfield to <br /> keep the balls from rolling into the swamp and he wants to get <br /> going on putting some native prairie grass on some of the berms . <br /> Staff will be putting in the ballfield backstop soon. <br /> City Hall Park: Marty will be meeting with residents this week. <br /> George Wattson will be there to see what the residents want in <br /> the park. <br /> City Survey: The survey is in process and should be done within <br /> a few weeks . Randy Schumacher has gotten the athletic complex <br /> grant deadline extended until September 29 . <br /> 6 <br />
