RESOLUTION NO. 98 -47 Page -2- 7. Environmental names which may represent the name of animals or trees in the area. Only under significant circumstances will consideration be given to naming parks after individuals and/or organized groups, associations, or businesses. To be considered, the individual, group, association or business, must have made a significant and exceptional contribution to the park involved or the community as a whole. Such contributions should be for recreational purposes. In addition, recognition plaques, memorial plaques, or dedications, may be placed throughout the park system at the discretion of the Parks and Recreation Director with the recommendation of the Park Board. EXISTING PARKS All existing parks will be officially named as to what they have been regularly referred to: Arena Acres Pheasant Hills u 4 Behm's Century Farm Quail Ridge Birch Park Rice Lake Estates Birchwood Acres Shenandoah Brandywood South Reshanau Lake Estates City Hall Sunrise Clearwater Creek Sunset Oaks Country Lakes Wenzel-Farms LaMotte Park Woods of Baldwin Lake Lino Wollan Park Marshan RENAMING PARKS If a group of individuals are interested in renaming their neighborhood park, the following procedure will be required: 1. Obtain at least 50%of signatures from at least one adult homeowner from each residence within the designated service area as determined by the Parks and Recreation Director(generally 1/2 mile radius). 2. The suggested new name and the rationale for changing must appear on the petition. The petition will be submitted to the Park Board for consideration. `-�
