COUNCIL MINUTES FEBRUARY 9, 1998 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 98- 14 AUTHORIZING THE <br /> ISSUANCE OF 1998 CERTIFICATES OF <br /> INDEBTEDNESS Approved <br /> OPEN MIKE <br /> No one appeared under Open Mike. <br /> SECOND READING ORDINANCE NO. 29 -97 AMENDING CITY CODE BY <br /> REMOVING CERTAIN SECTIONS OF CHAPTER NO. 207 FOR MORE EFFICIENT <br /> ADMINISTRATION OF HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT,DAN TESCH <br /> Mr. Tesch explained that this ordinance was presented for first reading in October of 1997. Its <br /> purpose is to replace Section 207 of the City Code based upon consultation with neighboring <br /> municipalities, which section deals with the City's personnel policies. <br /> Council Member Bergeson moved to approve Ordinance No. 29 - 97, as presented. Council <br /> Member Dahl seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Ordinance No. 29 - 97 can be found at the end of these minutes. <br /> CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION NO. 98 - 15 DESIGNATION OF COMMUNITY <br /> DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDING FOR THE CITY OF LINO �.. <br /> LAKES FOR FUNDING YEAR 1998-99, PAULA SCHLOER <br /> Ms. Schloer stated that the City held a public hearing on January 12, 1998 to allow the citizens <br /> and agencies of Lino Lakes the opportunity to request Community Development Block Grant <br /> dollars. She added that the City currently has $34,801 for 1998-99 activities. Ms. Schloer <br /> presented the following allocation of these funds as recommended by Council: <br /> Anoka County Community Action Program $ 3,400 <br /> Alexandra House 4,000 <br /> Community Emergency Assistance Program 1,000 <br /> Forest Lake Youth Service Bureau 5,000 <br /> Meals-on-Wheels 1,885 <br /> ARC of Anoka and Ramsey Counties 1,000 <br /> Lino Lakes Senior Citizen Coordinator Program 18,516 <br /> Ms. Schloer explained that 13% of the overall County grant may be allocated towards public <br /> services and 20%towards planning projects. There remains the possibility that after grant <br /> requests have been submitted the County may respond with cuts should these percentages be <br /> exceeded. <br /> 2 <br />
