City of Lino Lakes
Quail Ridge Master Plan Neighborhood Meeting
February 12, 1998
The February 12, 1998 Quail Ridge Neighborhood Master Planning
meeting was called to order at 6: 35pm, at the Centennial Fire
Station.
Park Board Members present were George Lindy, Sharon Lane, and
Paul Montain.
Also in attendance were Jeff Schoenbauer, Brauer and Associates,
Rick DeGardner, Parks and Recreation Director, Sandie Wood,
Office Manager, Parks and Recreation Department.
Rick DeGardner welcomed everyone, introduced himself and Jeff
Schoenbauer. He then turned the meeting over to Jeff.
Jeff discussed the handout on park trails . He told the
residents the importance of trails and discussed location and
development considerations .
He said that he learned at the last meeting that residents were
looking for an active and passive small neighborhood park which
includes :
1 . Trails
2 . Play equipment
3 . Benches
4 . Single Station workout areas
5. Selective clearing of brush
6. Bird and duck houses
Jeff then went over the two concept plans he had prepared for
the meeting. Residents had questions on the work stations .
Jeff said it was brought up at the last meeting and residents
felt they would be nice in the park. Someone asked if it could
be put in the picnic area. There were questions about trails .
Residents wanted to know if the trail would be asphalt. Jeff
responded yes . They would be 8' wide and would accommodate
bikes, and walkers . They could be done during construction of
the park. They also wanted to know if the trails would be
plowed in the winter. Rick told them what the current policy is
on trail plowing. Residents wanted to know how long
construction would take, what type of equipment would be used
and when it could start. There was also discussion on the
horseshoe pits, trees, and whether a Frisbee Golf Course could
be put in. George Lindy said a frisbee golf course would be
more appropriate in a larger park. Residents wanted to know if
there was going to be lighting in this park. Jeff responded
probably not. There was discussion on the boardwalk. People
1
