7,
CITY ' OF
IN KE
February 23, 1998
TO: Park Board Members
FROM: Rick DeGardner
SUBJECT: Rice Lake Estates Park
The city has recently received final authorization from the Corp
of Engineers to proceed with the development of Rice Lake
Estates Park.
Dave Phipps, City of Circle Pines Park Director, is still
interested in allowing for the trail connection to Baldwin Park
i-, as well as development of the park. The most recent master plan
indicates playground equipment, a full court basketball court,
and a tennis court (see attached) . Dave will be reviewing the
master plan with his staff, Park Board, and Council . John
VonDeLinde, Anoka County Parks and Recreation Director, is also
aware of our intention to proceed with the development of this
park.
There are two vacant lots located at the end of Sandhill Drive
that are owned by the city. I recommend that the city sell the
two lots and use the proceeds for further development of Rice
Lake Estates Park. According to Todd Smith, Anoka County
Assessor, the current assessed value of each lot is $20, 800 .
2/23/98
sw/mw/sandies folder/parkbrd/Rice Lake Estates Memo.doc
PARK, RECREATION, FORESTRY, & RECYCLING DEPARTMENTS
7204 Lake Drive • Lino Lakes, Minnesota • 55014
Phone: 617-780-1885 • Fax: 612-784-7227
