So <br /> C I T Y O F <br /> LIN U KES <br /> Parks and Recreation Department <br /> Memorandum <br /> DATE: 1/28/98 <br /> TO: Park Board <br /> FROM: Barry Bernstein, Recreation Program Supervisor <br /> SUBJECT: Friends of the Parks Update <br /> A few topics of discussion from the Friends Foundation last meeting. <br /> • It was discussed that the Friends of the Parks Foundation will be improving the park <br /> signs from the people who have contributed items to the foundation. They will be <br /> going to a colored plastic sign that will last longer and be more vandal resistant. <br /> • It is anticipated that the tree sale will proceed as scheduled. The last few years, the <br /> current Mayor operated this sale. It is anticipated another person will be operating <br /> the sale,but the very successful tree sale will proceed. <br /> • A Foundation representative will be meeting with the Earth Day Committee to <br /> proceed with the Earth Day Celebration. <br /> • The Foundation is always looking for members. It is anticipated that a membership <br /> drive will be happening very soon. <br /> • The golf tournament was discussed and the Foundation is waiting for a reply back <br /> from Chomonix Golf Course for a confirmed date.
