CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO.21-71 <br />APPROVING APPLICATION FOR A SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT <br />FOR AN EVENT HELD AT THE AMERICAN LEGION POST 566 ON JULY 295 2021 <br />WHEREAS, the Commander of American Legion Post 566 has submitted an application for a <br />special event permit; and <br />WHEREAS, the event plan includes live music outside from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, <br />July 29, 2021; and <br />WHEREAS, the Legion has indicated that all patrons or members attending the event will <br />receive a proper identification check to ensure no underage alcohol service will occur; and <br />WHEREAS, the outdoor liquor service will be set up on the outdoor patio contagious to the <br />building; <br />WHEREAS, the Public Safety Department has reviewed plans for the event which includes <br />erecting a canopy. The Public Safety Department has provided conditions for the permit: and <br />(1) Applicant will provide security on premise for the duration of the event to ensure <br />there are no violations of laws and ordinances or disruptive behavior. <br />(2) Applicant will provide all staff and/or volunteers working this event with training <br />that focuses on prevention of over service of alcohol and other means to safely serve <br />customers. <br />(3) Applicant will ensure that event is compliant with City Ordinance 901.03 (4a) Public <br />Nuisances Affecting Peace and Safety. <br />(4) Applicant will ensure that the event is conducted in manner that meets the MN State <br />Fire Code. <br />(5) Telephone service shall be in place sufficient to connect to emergency services. <br />(6) Event will end as articulated in the application. <br />WHEREAS, the Public Safety Department has reviewed the application and event plans; and <br />WHEREAS, proof of general liability insurance has been submitted by the American Legion to <br />cover all events held on their property as well as the event held on city property; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes, <br />Minnesota: <br />That the City Council authorizes issuance of a Special Event Permit to the American Legion Post <br />566 for the event scheduled on July 29, 2021. <br />Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 12th day of July, 2021. <br />
