CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 1E <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Lisa Hogstad-Osterhues, Deputy City Clerk <br />MEETING DATE: July 125 2021 <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 21-71, Approving an Application <br />for a Special Event Permit for a Fundraiser/Corn Roast at <br />the American Legion Post 566 <br />VOTE REQUIRED: <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Simple Majority (3/5 Vote Required) <br />The American Legion Post 566 has applied for a Special Event Permit to hold a <br />fundraiser/corn roast event July 30, 2021. <br />Applicant has proposed to fence off a portion of their property to include a tent area <br />outside. <br />Applicant has also proposed to have a band outside from 4:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. on <br />Thursday, July 30, 2021. <br />The application has been reviewed by staff, including the public safety department. The <br />applicant has been provided with a list of safety conditions. The applicant has agreed to <br />comply with the conditions and to address any other safety considerations that may arise. <br />The applicant has provided a Certificate of Insurance covering this event. <br />Therefore, staff is presenting for city council consideration of a resolution authorizing the <br />issuance of a Special Event Permit for the American Legion Post 566. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve Resolution No. 21-71 authorizing issuance of a Special Event Permit for a <br />Fundraiser/Corn Roast at the American Legion Post 566. <br />ATTACHMENT: <br />Resolution No. 21-71 <br />American Legion Location Map <br />
