S
Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department
7204 Lake Drive
CITY' O F Lino Lakes, MN 55014
I KE (651) 780-1885 Fax (651) 784-7227
11
October 27, 1998
TO: Park Board Members
FROM: Rick DeGard Parks and Recreation Director
SUBJECT: Wenzel Farms Trail
In April of 1998 City Staff again addressed the possibility of completing the trail system in the
Wenzel Farms Development. This would consist of a bridge and a paved 8' trail from Snow Owl
Lane to Ivy Ridge Lane. The proposal was presented to the Wenzel Farms Townhome
Association members on April 27, 1998. The members voted to table any action regarding the
development of the trail system.
On October 27, Ken Swanson, a member of the association board, contacted me and indicated
that the board has decided to grant the necessary easements to allow the city to complete the trail
system.
It is my recommendation to enter into an agreement with the Wenzel Farms Townhome
Association with the following stipulations. The townhome association will provide the
following:
1. Sign the additional 8' easement along the southern property line that was approved at the
November 26, 1996 council meeting.
2. Approve a new trail easement along the western boundary of the development.
3. If necessary, approve construction easement for construction of the bridge.
The city will provide:
1. Street sweeping of Ivy Ridge Court and Ivy Ridge Lane, where trail easements exist, two (2)
times per year with additional sweeping at the discretion of city staff.
2. Provide trail signage indicating "No Motorized Vehicles Allowed".
3. Provide split rail fence along the southern property line of Lot 31.
4. Construct the bridge.
5. Pave remaining trail segments.
