COUNCIL MINUTES July 27, 1998 <br /> July 17, 1998 SAC <br /> (Check No. 51672-51704, $18,159.84) Approved <br /> Mayor Sullivan informed those present and those watching that if they did not have cable today, <br /> you may call the local cable company and receive credit for one day. <br /> Mayor Sullivan reminded those present of the guidelines for audience participation in City <br /> Council meetings, emphasizing the need for respectful dialog. <br /> OPEN MIKE <br /> No one appeared for open mike. <br /> CONSIDERATION OF THE SECOND QUARTER BUILDING DEPARTMENT <br /> REPORT,PETE KLUEGEL <br /> Mr. Kluegel referred to the second quarter report from the Building Department. He gave a brief <br /> overview of the report noting that a total of 431 building permits were issued through June 30, <br /> 1998. He asked Council to approve the report as presented. <br /> Mr. Wessel noted that he was very happy that both Commercial and Industrial activity has <br /> increased over the second quarter from 1997. <br /> Council Member Bergeson asked if there were any permit problems regarding repairs due to the <br /> storm damage. Mr. Kluegel stated there were 66 permits issued for roofing repairs from the <br /> storm. He indicated there had been no problems with the permits. <br /> Council Member Neal moved to approve the Second Quarter Building Department report as <br /> presented. Council Member Dahl seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> FINANCE DEPARTMENT REPORT, MARY VASKE <br /> Consideration of Resolution No. 98 - 119, Transferring Funds from Area and Unit Fund to <br /> G. O. Improvement Bonds, 1992A- Ms. Vaske stated that the 1992A bonds were sold to <br /> finance various projects including the West Central Trunk Project. In 1995, TIF funds were <br /> transferred to the Area and Unit Fund to help defray the cost of the West Central Trunk project. <br /> Annually,the City should transfer funds from the Area and Unit fund to cover the bond costs of <br /> the 1992A Bonds. <br /> Ms. Vaske noted that the Area and Unit Fund projections were presented to the Council in <br /> March, 1998. These transfers were included in the projections. <br /> Council Member Bergeson moved to adopt Resolution No. 98 - 119, as presented. Council <br /> Member Lyden seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 2 <br />
