A funding source will have <br /> to be identified. He stated he will pursue the funding source with the Park Department if the <br /> Council approves. <br /> Council Member Bergeson asked if is possible to include the trail paving as a bid alternate to be <br /> debated after a discussion. Mr. Powell indicated the trail paving can be added in the future <br /> without a re-bid. The trail paving will not be done until next spring. The Council does not have <br /> to proceed with the change order immediately. <br /> Council Member Bergeson stated this issue was discussed at the last work session. Paving the <br /> trail while workers are already in the area is a good idea but the Council does not want to <br /> undermine the Park Board. He stated that before moving ahead with this a discussion needs to be <br /> held with the Park Board regarding their priorities and funding. <br /> Mayor Sullivan encouraged the opportunity to pave the trail because it is beneficial to the City. �..� <br /> She stated Mr. Powell should work with the Park Board regarding funding and priorities. <br /> Mr. Tesch noted the September, 1998, Park Board meeting has been canceled. <br /> Council Member Lyden stated he would like a commitment from Council to finish the trail. He <br /> asked if the funds would be taken out of Park Dedication Trail Funds or General Fund. Mr. <br /> Powell indicated it is up to the Park Board to identify the funds. He stated he can pursue State <br /> Aid funding. Mayor Sullivan stated Mr. DeGardner can help identify other funding sources. <br /> Council Member Bergeson moved to adopt Resolution No. 98 - 126, as presented, and instruct <br /> the City Engineer to continue to investigate the possibility of paving the trail with Park staff. <br /> Council Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Resolution No. 98 - 126 can be found at the end of these minutes. <br /> Comprehensive Plan Update,Brian Wessel-Mr. Wessel went over the schedule for the <br /> remainder of the Comprehensive Plan Task Force meetings. He noted the next meeting is <br /> Thursday, August 27, 1998, 6:00 p.m. There will be three (3) meeting is September. The <br /> Comprehensive Plan will be brought before the Planning and Zoning Board on October 14, 1998. <br /> The Comprehensive Plan will then be brought before Council for approval on October 26, 1998. <br /> 10 <br />
