CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MARCH 17, 1999 <br /> n <br /> CITY OF LINO LAKES <br /> MINUTES <br /> DATE : March 17, 1999 <br /> TIM STARTED : 5:36 p.m. <br /> TIME ENDED : 9:44 p.m. <br /> MEMBER PRESENT : Council Members Bergeson,Lyden,Neal, <br /> and Mayor Sullivan <br /> ME-MBER ABSENT Dahl <br /> Staff members present: City Administrator, Linda Waite Smith; Administration Director, <br /> Dan Tesch; City Engineer, John Powell; Community Development Director, Brian <br /> Wessel; Economic Development Assistant, Mary Alice Divia,'p,(part); Planning <br /> Coordinator, Mary Kay Wyland (part) Chief of Police,Dave Pecchia(part); <br /> Environmental Specialist, Marty Asleson(part); City Planner, Jeff Smyser <br /> COMP PLAN UPDATE,JEFF SMYSER <br /> Brian advised that the Comprehensive.Plan'has been submitted for review by the <br /> Metropolitan Council. The city has a'meeting with the Metropolitan Council regarding <br /> their review in April, 1999. Once the Mdt� �-ouncil says the submittal is complete,they <br /> have sixty (60) days to complete their"review. The anticipated date for City Council <br /> action is July 26, 1999. <br /> Brian noted a 4/5 vote will be required to approve the Plan. Once the Plan is approved, <br /> the zoning ordinance'& e' reviewed in detail. The process regarding the zoning <br /> ordinances will,t approximately six(6)months. <br /> Council directed J,ifto review the numbers regarding growth in the Comprehensive Plan <br /> to ensure that the numbers are correct. Jeff indicated he will walk through the calculation <br /> of numbers for council members at the next work session. <br /> LIQUOR ORDINANCE,JEFF SMYSER <br /> Brian stated the moratorium placed on liquor licenses has expired. It is the intent to have <br /> the new liquor ordinance go before Council in April, 1999. A detailed review of the new <br /> ordinance will be given at the next work session. <br /> Jeff distributed a draft copy of the new Liquor Ordinance. He stated his report <br /> concentrates on land use, zoning, and his recommendations. He asked council to review <br /> 1 <br />
